To celebrate the launch of JukeJam, get to know a little more about the team of musicians that kickstarted everything.

Behind the Curtain.

JukeJam is a live music agency, created by musicians, that makes booking live music easier than ever! From the very conception of JukeJam, it was clear that we wanted to place wellbeing at the heart of everything we do - be that the wellbeing of our musicians, the environment, or you, our clients. At JukeJam, we want everything to have a personal touch, so you’ll only ever speak with one of our founders directly! We figured it was about time you got to meet the team behind the screen!

Our History.

We first came across the idea of a live music agency when realising that, in our own experiences as musicians, there was always one key consistency: agencies left musicians with little support, and clients weren’t being given any transparency on their events. Time after time, musicians and clients alike were being let down by agencies who were unable to step up to the mark. So, we decided to channel our frustrations and make one that would. Our small, but expert, team is made up entirely of working musicians who have experience in working events. They know how important a personal touch is. Here’s your chance to get to know the team!

Meet Ben.

I’m a tenor saxophonist - from sunny Stoke-on-Trent- and have been lucky enough to perform with a range of fantastic original artists, as well as some of the best corporate outfits in the U.K. Alongside my performance career, I have studied music at undergraduate level, followed by a postgraduate MSc in Music Performance Science. This afforded me the opportunity to learn more about the way we, as performers, think, operate, and feel, and the negative impacts we may face.

All of this experience brought me to the natural point of believing that an agency, such as JukeJam, was a necessity. As the business’ Wellbeing-Officer and Artist Manager, it’s my job to ensure our musicians have all the support they need.

Meet Chris.

As the elder statesman of our dynamic trio, it all started for me in the mid-80s. In 1985, I joined the Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra and settled on the Baritone Sax as my primary instrument. I’ve played at The Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s, and even the Montreux Jazz Festival at the Epcot Centre in Disney World. The list goes on and on- but I won’t bore you with it. I’ve worked for multiple agencies in the past, and they all have one thing in common: an impersonal touch that leaves musicians anxious, and clients were left in the dark. This isn’t how agencies should operate.

So, when Ben and Ruby approached me about their new project, I thought JukeJam would be a great opportunity to ensure my past experiences with agencies wouldn’t be repeated. In my role as Client Liaison, it’s my job to ensure that you, our clients, have full transparency and that your book is entirely hassle-free. JukeJam can make a difference.

Meet Ruby.

Though my performance experience is by no means as extensive as my other team members (looking at you, Chris), I’ve had the privilege of performing with some incredible musicians. Alongside co-founding JukeJam, I am currently working towards my masters degree, engaging in business and the marketing of the creative industries. This has certainly served up some great inspiration for JukeJam; namely, the increasing push for sustainability in the industry. It’s my job to keep an eye on our carbon footprint and promote our sustainability ethos. Oh - and I’m the writer of the group. So, any newsletters or updates… you’re probably hearing from me!
